A fresh tattoo should be protected from intense sunlight, prolonged swimming, unnecessary friction and activities that heavily irritate healing skin. Holiday plans should therefore be arranged around the early healing period.

Protect a Fresh Tattoo From Strong Sun

Freshly tattooed skin is sensitive. During healing, avoid direct intense sunlight and follow the protection instructions given by your artist. Once fully healed, sensible UV protection can help preserve the appearance of tattooed skin.

Swimming

Do not soak a fresh tattoo in swimming pools, the sea or hot tubs while the skin is healing.

Heat, Sweat and Friction

Normal movement is unavoidable, but prolonged intense exercise, heavy sweating and repeated rubbing can irritate fresh skin.

Follow the Instructions for Your Tattoo

Aftercare can vary depending on placement, tattoo size and the dressing used. Follow the instructions provided for your specific tattoo, and seek medical advice if you are concerned about unusual symptoms.

Artist’s Perspective

In Antalya, aftercare planning starts before the tattoo because heat, sun and swimming are part of the client’s daily environment. I prefer clients to understand these limits in advance so the healing phase does not become a surprise after the session.

What I Check Before I Start

I keep aftercare advice practical and specific to the tattoo, dressing and body area. The goal is not to create a complicated ritual; it is to keep the fresh skin clean, protected and free from unnecessary irritation while it heals.

This guide reflects the way I approach real tattoo projects: body placement first, a clear focal point, controlled contrast, tattooable detail and honest technical limits. The goal is a design that works on skin, not just on a screen.
